The ambience of the event was traditionally Yoruba, as the
Chinese representatives of StarTimes could be seen cladded in Yoruba attires
and mingled freely with Yoruba actors who were in their flowing agbadas.
For the cocktail, there was a customized palace where every
guest had the opportunity to be a king with a horsetail and royal walking
stick. Thereafter, everyone proceeded to the main auditorium where Seyi
Law was at hand to crack the ribs of the guests.

According to Adebayo Salami, the journey started in 2016 when
some Chinese movies were dubbed in
Yoruba language, but after due consultation with the StarTimes team, he got an assurance that the cable TV will promote Yoruba culture and this eventually materialised into the production of Alagbara series.

On his part, the CEO of StarTimes, Justin Zhang, posited that
the brand would do all within her reach to continually support the Nigerian
movie industry through various laudable initiatives.
Alagbara airs weekly on Orisun TV (StarTimes’ channel 153).
