Popular Cleric, Sunday Dare Iyunade Warns Against Economic Crisis, Severe Hunger In Nigeria

The General Overseer of Pentecostal Sanctuary Bible Ministries (PSBM) Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Prophet Sunday Dare Iyunade has warned against economic crisis and severe hunger in Nigeria.

Prophet Iyunade, whose past predictions came to pass, revealed during an interactive session with the media on the 23rd anniversary of the mission at the church auditorium recently, that the economy of the country will not be bouyant now and that it will continue to depreciate.

Iyunade added that God told him that the economic policy of the government would not bring any positive change to the nation's economy.

"investors will stay away from our country in protest against the government policy. International organisations will reduce their support for our country in area of donation and funding of charity and development.

"The hunger God told me some years ago has not manifested. What we are just experiencing now is only its peripheral and not the main thing. 

"However, God shall feed His people. You and your household will not partake in it or experience hunger. I saw drought in some parts of the Northern part of the country. 

"Government should prepare for this because of the children. We must all pray for God's intervention in our country," he said.

The man of God, who said that the anniversary of the mission would start on Sunday 24th March and end on Saturday March 30th, stressed that security would be worse and poruos in Nigeria in the coming months.

The cleric revealed that new strategies would be introduced by criminals and terrorists, adding that the country should pray for wisdom for the government to be able to handle the situation.

He added that God told him that whirlwind of politics that would blow off some politicians in Nigeria was on the way, but that he didn't know when it would come.

While saying that there would be loss of some political leaders before the year runs out, he said that the government in power would determine the future of their party before the end of their tenure.

According to him, "Christians in Nigeria should pray very well because this is a season of persecution of Christians.

"For this, Christians must pray and live holy to have access to the throne and receive authority to free themselves.

"Christian community needs to increase their evangelism drive to reach the unreached. 

"There will be unexpected loss in Christendom and among Christian leaders, who are pillars in the church. Christians must pray to fill the vacuum."

Prophet Iyunade however advised Nigerian leaders to listen to the voice of the masses and be selfless.

On his advice to the Governor-elect in Ogun State, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, Prophet Iyunade urged him to unite the entire state, and listen to the voice of the people on critical issues.

Speaking on the theme of the this year's anniversary of the mission; "Be Fruitful And Multiply," Prophet Iyunade said that the church was called to be fruitful and multiply.

"The mind of God for calling us into Christianity is for us to be fruitful. There is nothing He is expecting from us than to go and be fruitful. God said in His word that none in His house shall be barren.

"In Deuteronomy 7:14, it is obvious that God does not encourage barrenness, stagnation and depreciation, rather, He encourages fruitfulness, productivity and multiplication. 

"He wants us to duplicate ourselves. He wants us to spread the goodness He has sent us to the whole world," he said.

The man of God criticised those, who accuse pastors of riding jeeps, wearing good clothes and charging fees in the universities and schools established by churches.

He said that pastors needed cars and even jets for evangelism and that they needed to wear good clothes and that they could not be walking naked.

On the fees being charged in schools owned by churches, he said that churches employ qualified lecturers and professors before they could be given accreditation.

He said: "people do not see the support churches give to prisons, hospitals and government schools. 

"Universities and schools owned by churches need standard equipments and each department needs at least two qualified professors before they could get accreditations and this does not come cheap.

"In the school owned by our mission, we give scholarship awards to indigent students and children of full time pastors of other ministries some of whom are now in the universities.

"People should stop saying what they don't know. People helped the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, when he was here physically. "Pastors cannot be trekking to far places or walk naked, when they should wear good clothes."
