We Did It For President Buhari, Victory Is Assured For Sanwoolu -Lagos APC Women Leader

Jumoke Okoya-Thomas
Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas has assured that the state would ensure victory for the party's governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu in the Saturday 9  March, 2019 general elections as they did for President Muhammadu Buhari two weeks ago.

Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas said in a press statement released and signed on her behalf by her media aide, Oladipupo Awojobi on Thursday that members of the APC and the residents of the state were fully ready to ensure continuity in the centre of excellence.

Okoya-Thomas stressed that the people of Lagos State know what is good for them and that they would not leave the reality for the unknown by allowing another party to take over power in the state.

According to her, "residents of Lagos State are progressives minded, so they would troop out enmasse on Saturday to vote for the candidate of the APC, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, who would continue from where the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode would stop on May 29, 2019.

"The revolution to rescue Lagos State from underdevelopment started in 1999, when our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu became the Governor of the state. We are all witnesses to his achievements before Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola took over after eight years in 2007.

"Of course, Fashola's achievements are for the records, no wonder he was given three ministries to handle by President Muhammadu Buhari.

"What of the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, his government has been benevolent to the good people of Lagos State since he took over in 2015.

"All these combined to make Lagos State the 5th largest economy in Africa and the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria.

"These achievements are too intimidating for us to allow the hawks to come and take over power and destroy what we have been building over the years," the statement read.

The Women Leader was quoted in the statement to have urged the residents of the state to come out in large number on Saturday to give victory to the APC in the election and to jealously guide their votes.

She said that members of the APC in Lagos State and lovers of development in the state were ready to give massive support to Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, who she said has all the qualities a Governor should have, adding that the best was yet to come for the state.

"We are fully ready to vote for Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu as the next Governor of Lagos State.

"All hands are on deck to vote for the man with special qualities to make things happen in Lagos State and continue the giant strides of the past and present governors of the state.

"Lagos became home to all tribes in Nigeria because they are sure that their lives and businesses are protected in the state.

"Mr. Sanwoolu would not jettison this, infact he would do better based on his blueprint for development in the state.

"I just want to urge our people to support the candidates of the APC in the state for the governorship position and all the candidates of the APC in the 40 constituencies in the state house of assembly election," the Women Leader said.
